Meeting the Needs of the Aviation / Aerospace / Defense Industries
The Military-Aerospace Division of Atlantic Fasteners took another major step forward when it recently received certification as an AS9120-compliant supplier to worldwide aviation and aerospace industries.
What is AS9120 certification?
AS9120 certification reflects stringent international quality management standards related to chain of ownership, traceability, stock control and availability of records for all parts and components supplied by a vendor.
What does it mean?
Many of the large OEMs in aviation and aerospace—including major US military contractors— require AS9120 as a quality control measure before they will do business with a supplier. This means that Atlantic Fasteners now has a significant opportunity to meet a broader set of the needs of key industry players—companies like Boeing, Sikorsky, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and many others.
How did it happen?
AS9120 registration was awarded to Atlantic Fasteners on October 5, 2009, following audits by Intertek Testing Services NA of Kentwood, Michigan, in accordance with evaluation procedures established by National Quality Assurance (NQA) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Certification is valid through November 14, 2010, at which time it will be subject to annual review.
This achievement is an important milestone in the rapid growth and success of the Atlantic Fasteners Military-Aerospace Division. It’s proof that in 2010 and beyond, our marketing, sales, and customer service personnel are more committed than ever to meeting the business requirements of the aviation and aerospace industries.
