Atlantic Goes Red for heart disease prevention

Last month, ten women from Atlantic Fasteners attended the Go Red for Women event held at the Log Cabin Banquet House in Holyoke, Mass.

The event, which takes its name from a coinciding movement spearheaded by the American Red Cross, aims to teach women about the perils and prevention of heart disease.

Statistics show approximately one woman dies of heart disease every minute, making it the number one killer in women. Involved in this luncheon event, attendees learned about CPR, managing finances, and the risks of heart disease.

“It was very insightful and entertaining,” Jacquie Kostanski said. “Also, it’s very rare that the women of Atlantic can get together and have an afternoon for a good cause.”

The Atlantic Go Red contingent can be seen throughout the video seen here from WWLP, the local NBC affiliate in the area.

Also, Atlantic will be hosting a local firefighter that spoke at the event to teach the company about CPR. That seminar will tentatively take place next month.
