The Defense Supply Center of Richmond Virginia has recognized Atlantic’s military/aerospace division with a Gold Medalist Supplier award, according to division manager Marc Dionne.
“The award is based on our quality and delivery performance on shipments to the Center between Jan. 5 ’05 and Jan. 5 ’06,” notes Dionne. “All of us, including chief inspector, Dana Lees, are flattered and honored. We’ve worked hard for the last two years to become best-in-class.”
Dionne said that one of his goals when establishing Atlantic’s mil-spec division in 2004 was to perfect the processes, know-how, and consistency to win such a tribute. He says his division is obsessed with continual refinement, investing thousands in technology. “For example, five months ago we installed a new imaging system for scanning certs, prints and orders, which speeds up their access and improves our accuracy,” he stresses.
He and Lees will be attending the annual business conference at the Defense Supply Center in Richmond, VA June 5th-7th, he says. “We’ll be presented a Gold Medalist Supplier plaque at the formal awards ceremony.”
Prior to joining Atlantic, Dionne worked a total of 11 years at two other aerospace/military suppliers.
